You may or may not be aware that the way you access government online services is changing. After 27 March 2020 Auskey will be replaced with myGovID.

If you or your business uses an Auskey to access government online services, you need to setup your myGovID and have your myGovID linked to your employer’s business prior to 27 March 2020 so you can act on their behalf on selected government online services.

The selected government online services includes the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and means that your myGovID must be in place to ensure you can continue to communicate with the ATO as well as lodge your activity statement and payroll information with the ATO.

myGovID is your digital identity which makes it easier to prove who you are online – its like the 100 point ID check but on your smart device.

myGovID uses encryption and cryptographic technology as well as the security features in your device such as fingerprintface or password, to protect your identity and help stop other people accessing your information.

If you need help getting your myGovID set up and/or linked to your business ATO portal or that of your employer’s portal, you can start with this link or contact your Davidsons team member on 03 5221 6399 for guidance.
